Celebrate the Middle East with the lovely ladies of ABDE at The Irving Public Library!
The Authentic Belly Dancing Entertainment and Academy will present a family friendly Belly Dancing performance complete with live dancers, canes and swords. The troupe will also teach the audience some dance steps.
East Branch will celebrate the Middle East from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 17. The festivities will start off with live camels dressed in cultural tapestries and a presentation by Doug Baum of the Texas Camel Corps on the history and culture of camels in the Middle East. Other festival activities will include authentic belly dancing, a puppet show of a traditional Middle Eastern tale, live music and food samples. Throughout the afternoon, participants can stop by the henna tattoo booth to learn about the rich history of this art form and get a temporary tattoo of their own.
The festivities are from 1-5 pm on Saturday September 17th, 2011
The Belly Dancing Demonstration will be from 2:15 – 3:00 p.m.
