I know Neenah personally and professionally to be a high class dedicated act on and off the stage.
I am not a client. I am an independent dancer. Over the years, Neenah often invited me to work with her. She was wonderful to work with and I was proud to work with such a professional group.
Planning a party can be very stressful. My original performer canceled on me at the last minute and Neenah saved me. My friends are still talking about Neenah’s performance. She was very elegant and graceful to say the least. Men and women both appreciated her performance. She was on time and prepared. Her performance is one that I will never forget and I would fully recommend her to any of my friends for a party. Again, thank you very much Neenah.
I would like to thank Neenah for performing at my husband’s 40th birthday. Everyone at the party from age 2 to 65 enjoyed her performance. She involved the party goers, so that everyone had fun.
These Belly dancers are great for all occasions! Family Friendly and Super Professional. We had Neenah dance at our father’s birthday who turned 90 and our whole family loved her and thought she was amazing. She brought coloring books for the kids. She dance for him when he turned 80. We cannot wait for her to come back when he turns 100. We love you Neenah!
Neenah, the house and feature dancer at Cafe Istanbul, is the owner of Authentic Belly Dancing Academy and director of its professional troupe “The Harem Jewels.” Hailed by the local press as the “Queen of Quarters and Shot Glasses” and “Dallas’ Favorite Belly Dancer,” Neenah is total entertainment and is in constant demand for her performances as a soloist and with her Awesome Troupe “The Harem Jewels”. Neenah feels privileged working with the Harem Jewels and loves them because as she says not only are they hardworking, but so down to earth and dedicated to the dance. With her energy and love for the beautiful art of belly dance, Neenah continues to focus on the retro-style form of entertainment which she refers to as Vintage Style. She received early training from Angelika and Zeyna, who were star performers in Dallas during the 1980’s and 90’s, well known for their stage presence, excellent musical interpretation and unmatched dance style. In addition to teaching classes and directing the troupe, Neenah performs and teaches seminars around the country, and is preparing to take on more opportunities to perform internationally both as a soloist and with her troupe.
Tavita started dancing in Russia where she worked tirelessly to perfect the movements that are the foundation of a good dance routine. Often seen as a bundle of energy and excitement her shows elicit a smile from patrons clapping along. Having had musical training from a young age and graduating from Musical School she then chose a different path, by gaining her advanced degree in Education, English. Tavita discovered Belly Dancing when Eastern Culture became popular in her home country. Fascinated that belly dance was perfect for all women, big or small, tall or short, young or old; no matter what Belly Dance seemed to be the perfect dance for any woman. Further, with the glamorous outfits and graceful beauty in the dances she had seen it became a passion that lasts with her to this day. Tavita invites you to come to a class, see what you have been missing, empower yourself and discover that well of creativity you never knew existed!
Haleemah began her bellydancing studies with ABDE in 2007. She studied for several years under various instructors before becoming a founding member of the Hareem Jewels. As a member of Hareem Jewels, Haleemah performs at various venues around the Metroplex. She enjoys delighting audiences with well rehearsed and dynamic performances. Veil, cane, and candles are some of her favorite props to work with. She hopes to make your next event a special one to remember!
Phariah’s interest in dance started at a young age, but didn’t start dancing until her college years. As the event coordinator for the Chinese Student Association, Phariah not only hosted but also performed Chinese folk dance and hip hop at various functions, sometimes with leading roles. She started belly dance at ABDE as a student trying out the class. It was love at first shimmy! She loves the Middle Eastern drum beats, the exquisite dance movements, and the exotic cultures associated with this ancient form of dance. Most of all, she enjoys performing on stage, where she infuses dancing with passion and joy.
“Texas Jewels” is an exciting new project in Dallas-Fort Worth directed by Neenah and Miabella. The reasons for the “Texas Jewels” are to bring a group of dedicated belly dancers together (Harem Jewels, Sultan Gems, Crescent Jewels) across the Dallas-Fort Worth area interested in:
- Fulfilling the venue demands (i.e., restaurants, state-fair, grand openings, private events, fund raisers, etc.) that are so diversified in culture (Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Egyptian, etc.) polishing the music and dance;
- Investing in rehearsal and practice time;
- Wanting to enhance a team effort to share knowledge and participate in various venues; and
- Polishing the art of belly dancing
