Since joining Authentic Belly Dancing Entertainment in 2008, Yasmine Aysun has worked regularly as its “voice,” emceeing various shows and Harem Nites at Stratos Greek Taverna. She also performs for the troupe at various functions and restaurants in the Dallas area, including Cafe Istanbul and Nazar. Yasmine Aysun was raised in a music and dance-oriented household, exposed to everything from tap to modern. However, it was through a decade of Olympic style Tae-Kwon-Do and yoga that Yasmine first learned to truly discipline her body. After earning her black belt and winning first in tournaments for her smooth and powerful forms, Yasmine Aysun found herself continually turning back to belly dancing as another striking form of expression. She began her serious pursuit of the art in 2001, working with professional troupes and dancers whenever possible in her travels across the U.S. She considers her style rooted in Turkish and Persian forms, but loves to dabble in all areas, including Indian and Egyptian. Zills, a veil, sword, and candles are just some of the props you might find in her performances. Yasmine Aysun is truly excited to continue her refinement as a dancer under the amazing Neenah, and delights in creating memorable, moving experiences for her audiences.
